3. Rookie RB A.J. Dillon compliments Aaron Jones

One of the hotter topics surrounding the defending NFC North champions these days is the physical stature of 2020 second-round selection A.J. Dillon. The former Boston College standout drew a lot of attention in training camp in recent days as the 6’0”, 247-pound running back opened a lot of eyes. Of course, his former position coach with the Golden Eagles is hardly surprised.

“He’s such a physical freak that people are not going to want to tackle him,” said White (via Mike Spofford of Packers.com). “I just can’t imagine it’s going to be much fun for opposing teams in December and January to be tackling A.J. Dillon in Lambeau Field.”

It’s exactly the kind of power solution the team needs if they are going to go further in 2020. The Packers already have a dynamite running back in Aaron Jones, who tied for the NFL lead with 19 total touchdowns this past season while finishing eighth in the league with 1,558 yards from scrimmage. Green Bay ranked 15th in the NFL in rushing yards per game this past year but that number figures to rise this season.

“I think he’s obviously built to last,” explained GM Brian Gutekunst to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky earlier this year. “He has had a lot of production over the last three years and proven that. We had a chance to have Eddie Lacy here for a few years where he was that kind of back, and I think A.J. can do some similar things.”
