In a playoff game between the Thunder and Rockets, Chris Paul hit Ben McLemore on accident right where it’ll sting the most.

The Oklahoma Thunder avoided a sweep from the Houston Rockets on Saturday night, but that’s not the only thing that’s going to be talked about in the locker rooms and on sports shows across the country.

If you were watching the game, you might have noticed an unlucky moment for Rockets shooting guard Ben McLemore.

While guarding veteran guard Chris Paul, McLemore was right up in his grill. However, with Paul trying to create some separation, he accidentally delivered a shot to McLemore’s midsection. And by midsection, we mean the place on his body that no man ever wants to receive a violent strike.

Chris Paul owes Ben McLemore a massive apology after he delivered a violent strike to his groin in Game 3 of the Rockets-Thunder series

After watching that clip, it’s hard not to feel terrible for McLemore. Paul let his hand just fly in with too much power, and it was a direct shot. The official on the baseline called it an offensive foul, but you know what, it was offensive in more ways than one.

To make matters worse for McLemore, Paul and the Thunder ended up winning Saturday’s game by a final score of 119-107. In the win, Paul finished with 26 points, six rebounds, five assists and one groin shot. McLemore had 0 points and two rebounds in 18 minutes of action.

He’s probably still in a tremendous amount of pain from his incident with Paul. He’s going to need more than an ice pack to recover from that.

The Thunder and Rockets will square off for Game 4 early next week. Let’s hope Paul can be a little more careful when going up against McLemore. The man can’t afford to take another hit like that.

Next. Chris Paul aging like a fine wine for the Thunder. dark
