7. RB Matt Breida, Miami Dolphins

This past season with the reigning NFC champion San Francisco 49ers, Matt Breida finished second on the team with 623 yards on the ground (1 touchdown) on 123 attempts – that coming in 13 regular-season contests. Those are certainly somewhat-respectable numbers. Now consider that figure was more than half of what the Miami Dolphins managed as a team (1,156) in 16 games in 2019.

The former undrafted free agent from Georgia Southern was dealt to South Florida during April’s draft. He joins one-time Bears’ and Eagles’ running back in Brian Flores’ revamped backfield. In a recent interview (via Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post), the three-year pro reference his speed, a big factor for the talented performer.

“It’s football,” Breida said. “You play football with an actual football and shoulder pads on. So I mean you play football with equipment. I don’t see a lot of guys that can run that fast with a football in their hands and full equipment.”

If Breida can help the Dolphins revive the NFL’s worst ground attack from a season ago, the 25-year-old performer could be on the fast track to a new contract. He certainly gives the Fins a home run threat out of the backfield.
