4. TE Zach Ertz, Philadelphia Eagles

San Francisco 49ers’ All-Pro tight end George Kittle recently inked a five-year, $75 million contract extension. Likewise Kansas City’ Second-Team All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce, his deal to the tune of four years and $57.25 million. So does that mean Zach Ertz is the next in line when it comes to the position?

“I do consider myself in that upper-echelon of guys, that same tier with all those guys,” said the three-time Pro Bowler recently (via ESPN’s Tim McManus)…I’m never in the business of comparing people. All three of us are at the top of our games, and I think we’re all perfect in the offense that we play in, honestly. We all have unique skill sets. We’re all very different with some similarities, but overall I don’t think my game is any less than any of those guys.”

Ertz has been targeted at least 100 times each of the past five seasons and has led Philadelphia in receptions four consecutive years and counting. In 2016, he inked a five-year, $42.5 million extension with the club. The deal has been restructured several times since. So could we see another quality tight end get paid sooner than later?
