1. 2B Jonathan Schoop

Schoop hit a grand slam Tuesday night against the Chicago Cubs, his seventh home run of the season. With multiple hits in three of his last five games, he has pushed his slash-line for the season to .300/.331/.518 with 17 RBI and 17 runs scored to go with the seven home runs. Over his last nine games, he has a .444/.474/.722 slash-line (1.196 OPS) with three home runs and eight RBI over 38 plate appearances.

Schoop hit at least 21 home runs in four straight seasons from 2016-2019, and a full-season pace this year would easily push him toward 25-30 homers. But his 2019 splits with the Twins show a very streaky hitter.

March/April: 4 HR, 11 RB, .267./.313/.489 (.801 OPS)
May: 6 HR, 18 RBI, .258/.330/.505 (.835 OPS)
June: 3 HR, 5 RBI, .226/.253/.369 (.622 OPS)
July: 3 HR, 10 RBI, .271/.313/.475 (.787 OPS)
August: 5 HR, 9 RBI, .311/.340/.689 (1.029 OPS)
Sept./Oct.: 2 HR, 6 RBI, .226/.284/.387 (.671 OPS)

Schoop is on a one-year deal, so he’d be a prime trade candidate almost no matter what. That he happens to be on a bit of a hot streak lately is good fortune for the Tigers as a trade deadline seller.
