The 30 biggest NFL storylines of the 2020 season

20. The Chargers have the defensive talent. Will the offense toe the line?
On defense, the Los Angeles Chargers possess Derwin James, Melvin Ingram, Joey Bosa, Chris Harris Jr. and Linval Joseph. Wow.
That is a furious amount of horsepower for one defensive bunch to tout. Now, what about the offense? Tyrod Taylor will lead that side of the ball with rookie Justin Herbert waiting in the wings. Taylor and/or Herbert have offensive playmakers, too, in Keenan Allen, Austin Ekeler, Hunter Henry, and Mike Williams. So, can this tandem of quarterbacks orchestrate enough offensive production to complement the star-studded defense?
After all, the Chargers finished 10th in yards gained and sixth in yards allowed last season. They proceeded to finish the season with a 5-11 record. Figure that one out.
19. Is Drew Lock ready to lead?
By now, we know Lock is equally as playful as he is lovable as evidenced by his radiant persona. Lock will now gallop with Phillip Lindsay, Melvin Gordon, Courtland Sutton, Noah Fant, and Jerry Jeudy on offense. He really should not need any more talent to flourish.
Is the time now for Lock or must we wait for a couple more seasons of maturity? Patrick Mahomes won a title in his second full season as a starter. Russell Wilson did, too. Can Lock get in on the fun?
