9. Tom Brady – Most Regular Season games started by a QB

Current Record Holder: Brett Favre (298), 1992-2010

This is an honest-to-goodness longevity record. And, that’s ok.

Tom Brady has currently started a total of 283 games, all with the New England Patriots. For some reason, he changed his address to Tampa, Florida, this offseason and said farewell to the franchise to which he devoted 20 dominant seasons.

In Foxborough, Brady tallied six Super Bowl championships, 14 Pro Bowls, five All-Pro selections, and three NFL MVP awards. Those are just the big accomplishments. A large paperback storybook could be published on his other individual triumphs.

Now he joins coach Bruce Arians, wideouts Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, and tight end Rob Gronkowski in the NFC South. His attainment of this most-ever starts by an NFL quarterback will not be a seamless transaction. He must start 15 games to tie Brett Favre, and all 16 regular-season games to eclipse Favre’s legendary mark.

In August, Brady turned 43 years old. Like any other NFL player, an injury could occur at any moment. The risk is amplified when one hits a geriatric age, by NFL standards, such as 43. The only players in NFL history to start 16 games at age 43 are kickers and punters: Morten Andersen, Jeff Feagles, Jan Stenerud, and Adam Vinatieri.
