Jayson Tatum’s son shouting out his dad is absolutely adorable.

NBA players have had to go weeks without seeing their families, which can be especially hard on the league’s fathers who have young children. Now that the second round of the playoffs has begun, players have finally moved closer to being reunited with their families, but even with that date fast approaching, Jayson Tatum’s son identifying his daddy on a TV screen will still bring a tear to your eye.

In a video posted on Instagram by the Boston Celtics star, Tatum’s son Deuce is shown pointing at the screen at Tatum — who was warming up for Game 1 of his second-round playoff series against the Toronto Raptors — and calling out, “Daddy! Daddy!” over and over again.

Is it getting dusty in here for anyone else?

Jayson Tatum’s son Deuce remains adorable

Monday, Aug. 31 is the earliest NBA players can be reunited with their family members entering the bubble (provided they have first cleared quarantine), but it’s unclear if Deuce will be entering the bubble in Orlando or not.

In any case, those good vibes from afar didn’t hurt Boston in Game 1, as the Celtics smothered the Raptors with an 18-point win. Tatum was terrific in particular, finishing with 21 points and 9 rebounds on 9-of-18 shooting.

This is a tough year for everyone, and mental health is key — especially for these NBA players who have had to balance living in a bubble, being away from their families, taking the proper precautions to prevent a COVID-19 outbreak, protesting important social justice issues and, you know, actually playing basketball on top of all that in their pursuit of a championship.

Basketball comes second to all that, so it’s good to see Tatum is loving this video of his son supporting him from afar.
