3. Logan Ryan
Ryan is another player that seems to be waiting around for the perfect offer. His decision to change his representation also makes it clear he’s looking to find a home sooner, rather than later. Any teams looking for secondary help need to make a swift move for Ryan’s services.
Losing a step or two of foot speed has forced Ryan to make the transition from cornerback to safety. That might depress his value on the open market but it makes him a better scheme fit for most teams in the NFL. Anyone looking for a coverage safety should be putting in a call to Ryan’s new agent.
The big question with Ryan is how much money he’ll require before signing. He made a lot of coin with the Titans over the past couple of seasons. His chances of earning anything in the neighborhood of $10 million per season again are pretty small.
If he’s willing to take a short-term deal for about half that number then he should see a lot of interest from playoff teams looking to add some versatility to their secondaries. Ryan is a good locker room guy with a history of playing for winning teams. He may not be an All-Pro, but he can be an above-average starter for quite a few teams looking for safety help.
