2. D’Eriq King – Miami quarterback

Bettors are in love with the new Houston Cougars transfer as he joins a legitimate league in the ACC. D’Eriq King will have the chance to play the likes of Florida State and Clemson in marquee matchups. It’s somewhat surprising that he jumped all the way to second in the country, but this kid might be the most talented college football player in the nation.

The redshirt senior graduate transfer can do just about everything on the field last season. His arm is amazing. He can throw the ball down the field just as well as the two players atop this list. In his last full season in 2018, he had close to 3,000 yards and 36 touchdowns. That same season, he was averaging 6.1 yards per carry with 14 rushing touchdowns. He even added 2 receiving touchdowns, because why not?

This still seems like an ambitious pick. King is quite the talent, and Miami might be on the way back. That’s what makes King an intriguing pick to say the least. Football lovers have been waiting forever to have “The U Part 3”, and if King brings it to them this year, he will absolutely be near the top of the Heisman standings.

The biggest issue here is King’s durability. He’s 5’9, which is small even for people who claim small quarterbacks don’t matter. Russell Wilson is 5’11, and he’s the catalyst for the “small” quarterback. King takes it to another level. He also missed games in most of his college seasons,

A bet on King is definitely a bet for fun, and those types of quarterbacks have won the Heisman in the past. If he can put 20 touchdowns on the ground while adding 35 touchdowns through the air would make it impossible to ignore his stat line. People are already getting behind him to win the prestigious trophy, and with Justin Fields no longer in the way, there’s only Trevor Lawrence between him and being the favorite.
