After being released by the Jaguars on Monday morning, Leonard Fournette posted a heartfelt goodbye to Jacksonville fans.

Saying goodbye is never easy, and fourth-year running back Leonard Fournette knows all about that on Monday. After spending the first three seasons of his career with the Jaguars, Jacksonville made the decision to release him.

While Fournette’s time with the Jaguars hasn’t come without plenty of controversy, that doesn’t mean he didn’t also develop a close bond with everyone that would pack the stadium on Sundays to watch him play.

Fournette wasted little time in posting a heartfelt message to Jaguars fans everywhere, thanking them for their support over the past three years.

You can tell just how emotional Fournette is here, as he also goes on to thank the Jacksonville organization and the players he shared a locker room with. While he was with the Jaguars, Fournette, a former No. 4 overall pick, rushed for 2,631 yards and 17 touchdowns.

As good as he was at times on the field, he also had some issues with the team since his rookie year as well. In 2017, he was suspended once and was deactivated for a game during his first pro campaign. This offseason, the Jaguars were looking to trade him ahead of the NFL Draft, but no offers worth considering were made.

During a press conference on Monday, head coach Doug Marrone said the decision to release Fournette had nothing to do with his past, but more of how he had performed during training camp throughout the month.

Now, Fournette will look to get his career back on track in a new city, but he made it clear he’s got no ill will towards the fans, organization or his now former teammates.
