Texas A&M football season preview 2020: Record predictions, depth chart analysis, breakout players

Texas A&M football breakout players to watch out for

The common theme for the 2020 Texas A&M Aggies is experience, so finding someone to break out this season is a little harder than usual. But aside from the two freshmen we just talked about, the most obvious name that fits this title for the Aggies is Ainias Smith.

He will be making the transition from wide receiver to running back in 2020 in efforts to display his speed and skills all over the field. Smith will line up in the backfield but also in the slot. He is also the kick and punt returner for the Aggies and will literally be a tone-setter for the Aggies offense this season.

For the Aggies defense, expect a lot of play-by-play calls to end with the name: Demani Richardson.

He was just a freshman in 2019 but still started 11 out of the 12 games. Now, Richardson did not have numbers that jumped off the page but his presence on the field was a reason for the success the Aggies’ defense had last season. Richardson’s numbers will increase this year as he should lead not only the Aggies but the SEC in interceptions in 2020.

202o is going to be a weird football season but if anyone can benefit from the chaos this season presents itself with, it is the Texas A&M Aggies. Can the Jimbo Fisher and the Aggies finally make that jump? Or are they stuck in a rut of being too worried about just being the best team in their state?
