3 potential landing spots for Mohamed Sanu

No team has been hit harder at the wide receiver position during training camp than the New York Jets. Yes, you can argue the San Francisco 49ers deserve that recognition, but they’ll at least have Deebo Samuel returning relatively early in the season. The Jets’ position is nightmarish.
Like the Packers, the Jets didn’t really do much to address the wide receiver position this offseason. They allowed deep threat receiver Robbie Anderson sign with the Carolina Panthers and replaced him with Breshad Perriman. Additionally, they used just one NFL Draft selection on a receiver in Denzel Mims, but that came after they traded way down in the second round and happened to luck into him.
New York’s receiving corps was already weak, but it was pummeled once training camp kicked off. Mims missed most of camp with a hamstring injury, Perriman is currently dealing with knee swelling and Vyncint Smith underwent core muscle surgery in mid-August, knocking him out for a maximum of two months. As a result, the team had to bring in Chris Hogan and Donte Moncrief as emergency reinforcements.
Even before the injuries, the Jets boasted the worst receiving corps in the league. Luckily for them, the rival Patriots did them a solid by cutting Sanu, who’s an instant upgrade at the position. Don’t be surprised to see the Jets sign him once Sanu’s release becomes official on Thursday.
