OG Anunoby won Game 3 for the Toronto Raptors and saved their season in the process
Anunoby’s matured into one of the more complete players in the NBA, and is yet another example of excellent player development by Masai Ujiri and Nick Nurse. Come Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, Anunoby and the struggling Raptors had their backs up against the wall. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the NBA Playoffs, and it was unlikely to happen against a Boston team that’s played exceptionally well since entering the bubble.
Thankfully for the Raps, they don’t even have to entertain that idea. Anunoby played the role of hero in the most dramatic of ways.

You’ve got to be kidding me. Yet, my reaction was only the beginning of a complete meltdown from NBA Twitter, and for once, it’s completely understandable.
Social media couldn’t believe OG Anunoby’s game-winner
Perhaps most impressive factors of this play (outside of the shot falling, of course) was Kyle Lowry’s inbounds pass, which went over the outstretched arms of big man Tacko Fall.

Dude, WHAT?!
Anunoby called game, and the general excitement from the basketball community was something to behold.

Celtics fans can’t be too happy right now.

Semantics aside, Anunoby’s game-winner goes down as one of the best buzzer-beaters in NBA Playoff history. It immediately draws comparisons to Tony Parker’s famous shot to beat the Lakers, which occurred with less than a second remaining on the clock as well.
Ever since the calendar turned over to September, the NBA has gifted us some of the more memorable games in the league’s history. Hopefully, this is only the beginning.
