Tight Ends aren’t the ‘sexy’ position. But, having a reliable tight end without spending a fortune can certainly save you plenty of headaches on Sunday morning.

If you are in the position where Travis Kelce is slipping in your draft, then take him! He’s been the #1 TE for 4 straight years. He’s worth the price if the rest of your team is shaping up. However, usually we end up waiting to draft a tight end until the rest of our team is looking solid.

Here are some tight ends you shouldn’t look past:

Darren Waller (ADP: 58, Rounds 6-7): With the injury to Tyrell Williams, even more targets are available for Waller to take. The Raiders wouldn’t have given him such a large contract if they weren’t going to use him. I expect another high volume, top 5 TE season out of Waller.

Tyler Higbee (ADP: 84, Rounds 8-10): Higbee was a PPR machine the second half of 2019. He’s a safe bet to finish as a top 10 TE, and someone I look to snag in the later rounds to have a consistent scorer at the position.

TJ Hockenson (ADP 133, Rounds 13-15): Hockenson was a beast Week 1 last year. I see more consistent production this year with Stafford back. I expect a big, unexpected leap forward for TJ. And if it doesn’t work out, oh well, he only cost a late pick in your draft.

Deep Sleeper:

Chris Herndon (ADP: 160, Round 16-18): He probably won’t even be drafted but as a Jets fan, I have to say that Herndon is very good when on the field. That’s the key. He has to stay healthy. But, if he were a top 10 TE this year, I wouldn’t be too surprised. Same could be said if he finished outside the top 30 at the position. Risk/Reward is worth it in my book.
