Draymond Green brings the heat as guest analyst on NBA on TNT

Warriors forward Draymond Green offered some blunt advice for the Milwaukee Bucks and Denver Nuggets, who have both struggled in the second round.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green spent some time as a guest analyst on Inside the NBA on Thursday night, sharing some insights into the struggles that the Denver Nuggets and Milwaukee Bucks have faced in the second round and offering some blunt advice for each team to save its season.

Green offered some criticism for Nikola Jokic’s defense and called out the Serbian big man’s lack of effort as a reason why the Clippers routed the Nuggets. The former Defensive Player of the Year broke down a few plays where Jokic was slow to pick up his assignment on defense, leading to easy buckets for Los Angeles.

Draymond Green could have a future as an NBA analyst once his playing days are over.

Although he was previously fined for tampering on the show after saying that Devin Booker should leave the Phoenix Suns, Green contributed a lot to the conversation on Tuesday night, and was not afraid to speak candidly about playoff trends.

When asked about the Bucks and their 2-0 deficit against the Miami Heat, Green simply explained that Milwaukee’s supporting cast has not given the Heat any reason to be concerned, and their ability to zero in on Giannis Antetokounmpo has brought a high-powered offense to a screeching halt.

Green’s basketball insights were impressive, although not surprising for a player who has made a career off of his intelligence and defensive abilities. While his NBA career is far from over, his breakdowns suggest that a future as a commentator could be in the cards.

He certainly has the knowledge to make a move to the booth, but with Klay Thompson and Steph Curry returning and the Warriors holding the second pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, Green’s next move will likely have to wait.
