23. Week 14 – New England Patriots at Los Angeles Rams

Here, the NFL dangled a Super Bowl rematch to flavorize its Thursday Night Football lineup. From a preseason outlook, the Patriots nor the Rams are favored to be true-blue Super Bowl contenders in 2020, but the teams did meet about a 19 months ago for all the marbles.

This one could go either way in terms of allure. Bill Belichick could have his team beating the odds and in contention, or New England may be lonesome for Tom Brady.

For the Rams, Sean McVay’s squad could return to its 2018 ferociousness or be cardholders of mediocrity like last season. On a Thursday December night, we will find out.

24. Week 14 – New Orleans Saints at Philadelphia Eagles

This game is noteworthy because postseason jockeying for position will be well underway. Both NFC teams have lofty dreams for 2020. The Eagles are three years removed from their first-ever Super Bowl win; the Saints continue to be upended in the most depressing playoff ways known to mankind.

The undercard of Drew Brees vs. Carson Wentz is also an attractive appetizer.
