27. Week 16 – Minnesota Vikings at New Orleans Saints

Merry Christmas.

The Saints deprived Brett Favre and the Vikings of a Super Bowl berth a decade ago. Since then, Minnesota has astoundingly returned the favor by knocking New Orleans out of the playoffs in two of the last three seasons.

The rekindled rivalry takes a yuletide turn in 2020 as both squads go at it once again on Christmas Day. The Saints have never played a football game on Christmas; the Vikings have not played on Christmas in 15 years.

The aptly-named Kyle Rudolph figures to play a role in the matchup. Wink, wink.

28. Week 16 – Tennessee Titans at Green Bay Packers

This Titans-Packers encounter will be fascinating for two main reasons. First, both teams will probably be vying for a playoff spot, if not a division title. Both squads are well-coached and have no clear reason to flounder in 2020.

Second, there’s a common denominator: Matt LaFleur. Green Bay hired LaFleur as head coach in 2019 after they cut ties with longterm skipper, Mike McCarthy. Before joining the Packers, LaFleur was in charge of the Titans offensive in his offensive coordinator role albeit for one season.

LaFleur knows the Titans, and they know him. It’s not necessarily a revenge game, but the storyline is there nevertheless.
