2021 NFL Mock Draft: Jacksonville Jaguars Tank for Trevor is officially on
By Brad Weiss
The Indianapolis Colts will head into the 2020 NFL season with a veteran at quarterback in Philip Rivers, this after inking the future Hall of Famer in free agency. While it remains to be seen whether or not Rivers has much left in the tank, the positive thing is that he will be playing behind the best offensive line he has had in quite some time.
On the other side of the ball, the Colts have focused their attention on the secondary in recent drafts, bringing in guys like Malik Hooker and Rock Ya-Sin, and their focus should shift to the defensive line in April. Carlos Basham Jr. is an absolute rocket coming off the edge, and would be a nice addition to a defensive line that includes DeForest Buckner and Tyquan Lewis on the inside.
The Tennessee Titans were one of the best stories in the NFL last season, as they made the move from Marcus Mariota to Ryan Tannehill, and then wound up getting all the way to the AFC title game. Tannehill had a magical season, but was aided by Derrick Henry, who ran around, and through defenses all season long.
Looking at the other side of the ball, the Titans need to bring in more talent along the defensive line, a player to add to a group that already includes Harold Landry and Jeffrey Simmons. Jaylen Twyman from Pitt would be a perfect addition, as he can play inside, or out, and was one of the more productive defensive linemen in football last season.
The Buffalo Bills will be another team to keep an eye on this season, as the AFC East will be as winnable as it has been in years now that Tom Brady is gone. The Bills actually made it to the playoffs last season, losing to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card game, so they will be looking to take the next step forward in 2020.
On offense, quarterback Josh Allen started all 16 games last season, and played much better than he did as a rookie. The key is going to be protecting him moving forward, and they can do that by bringing in Wyatt Davis, a monster of an offensive guard from Ohio State who could start as a rookie as the team tried to get younger, and better up front.
