3. The Buffalo Bills defense exits of Week 1 as the top fantasy group

Game: New York Jets at Buffalo Bills (Sunday, 9/13, 1:00 pm EST)

Quarterback Josh Allen joined the Buffalo Bills in 2018 via first-round draft pick, and the future is bright for Allen and the Bills organization.

If you consider Drew Bledsoe’s stop in Buffalo nearly two decades ago as locking down the quarterback position, that would be the last time the Bills had a sure-fire, studly quarterback. Supposing Bledsoe is not how you portray a bonafide starter, then we’re winding the clock back to the days of Jim Kelly.

Regardless, the Bills might have found their man going forward. Allen has struggled with passing accuracy, but the working theory is that freshly-arrived Stefon Diggs will aid in Allen’s development. At his back, Josh Allen has a wicked-good defense.

Since Allen became the captain at Bills Stadium, Buffalo has surrendered the fourth-fewest points in all of football. Allen is setup for prosperity with this ferocious bunch at his disposal.

This week, that Bills defense takes on the rival New York Jets in Orchard Park. Jets signal-caller Sam Darnold will turn over the ball at least twice, Buffalo will capitalize on his follies with a defensive touchdown or two, and the Bills will hold the Jets under 14 points.

Helpful hint: The following week the Bills will then feast on the Dolphins.

Start them with confidence if you’ve got them.
