College football DFS running back picks September 12:

Top Tier:

Again, Clemson knows what they have in Travis Etienne. Oklahoma isn’t all that sure what they have in T.J. Pledger. He’s going to see a lot of work in this one against Missouri State. I don’t see him logging more than 20 carries, but Pledger could still put up massive numbers behind this line with that amount of carries.

I love the matchup for Keaontay Ingram, but I don’t see Texas overworking him against a poor UTEP team. Javian Hawkins is cheaper and should see a full workload against the Hilltoppers. He may be the safest pick of the top tier backs.

Middle Tier:

CJ Marable ran for 148 yards and scored the only Chanticleer touchdown in last year’s trip to Lawrence. Offensively, that game was a disaster for both squads. Both teams are better than they were a year ago, but I see no reason that Marable can’t duplicate that performance.

SaRodorick Thompson could be in for a huge game against Houston Baptist, but I’m more interested in what Pooka Williams can do for Kansas. He was solid against CCU last year, but I see the Jayhawks giving him more work in this one.

Bargain Shoppers:

I still see Marcus Major getting some good carries on the cheap for Oklahoma in this one. They’ve been using several backs in each of the last couple of years to keep Brooks and Sermon fresh. Expect them to do the same with Pledger and Stevenson when he comes back this year. For now, that role should fall to Major.

This is a situation where Lyn-J Dixon may be too big a part of the Clemson offense for them to risk him much if this game is a blowout. If it’s not, Dixon is a solid play at a great price. However, there is risk here, but the bottom of RB is all risky tonight.
