Philadelphia Eagles first-round pick Jalen Reagor’s NFL career got off to a horrendous start against Washington.

This was not what Howie Roseman and the Philadelphia Eagles had in mind when they used their first-round pick on TCU wide receiver Jalen Reagor. On Sunday, the speedster is making his NFL debut, but he’s going to want to get his first play back.

With Washington punting to the Eagles, Reagor went back to catch the pigskin, but he showed some nerves and fumbled the football. Fortunately for the rookie, an Eagles teammate was there to jump on top of the ball. Still, though, this is not what Eagles fans want to see.

Jalen Reagor is expected to be a big part of the Eagles offense in 2020

While that first play was a bit of a head-scratcher for Reagor, he’ll look to bounce back quickly and flush it from his head. The Eagles used their first-round pick on him for a reason: he’s a true speedster and they think he’ll be able to create magic with Carson Wentz throwing him the ball.

The Eagles are fresh off an NFC East title in 2019 and will be looking to repeat as champs this winter, potentially bringing more agony to the Dallas Cowboys. And for Reagor, moments after that near lost fumble, he saw Wentz hit Zach Ertz for the first touchdown of the season.

Doug Pederson will surely tell his rookie to use this as a learning experience. We’ll see what Reagor is able to get done the rest of the way Sunday and for the rest of the season.

Next. Zach Ertz and Howie Roseman apparently got into a heated argument. dark
