DraftKings U.S. Open picks: $6,000 range

Chez Reavie, $6,900 – After going T3 at the Safeway Open last week, Reavie is an interesting sub-$7,000 play this week. He’s not going to wow anyone but, if he’s locked in and accurate off the tee, then he could be a tremendous boost for your lineup.

Mackenzie Hughes, $6,900 – I mentioned Reavie because he warrants it but Hughes is the better option for your DraftKings lineup at $6,900. The Canadian was clutch and quite good in the FedEx Cup playoffs and popped up with a top-10 at the Memorial. He could be a contest-winner if he stays in form, especially with his short game.

Jason Kokrak, $6,800 – Quietly, Kokrak comes into the U.S. Open on somewhat of a heater. He was top-15 at Wyndham, THE NORTHERN TRUST and the BMW. His game isn’t necessarily a great fit for Winged Foot but, if you’re desperate, maybe his form carries on.

Rasmus Hojgaard, $6,800 – Hojgaard went 2-6-3-1 in four straight tournaments on the European Tour at the end of July and throughout August. While he cooled off two weeks ago, the Dane could be someone to watch in this one.

Will Zalatoris, $6,700 – An absolute star on the Korn Ferry Tour, Zalatoris has been one of the most consistent and best players in that tour over the past year. How does he fare in a major? We have no idea. But the form and skill are there for him to theoretically show up.

Ryan Palmer, $6,600 – We’ve seen Palmer make his way onto several leaderboards this year and make some noise. He lacks distance but, when locked in, he’s accurate and that could work in his favor this week. At this price, there is upside.

Sebastian Munoz, $6,600 – Speaking of upside, the Sebastian Munoz experience can be maddening but the man can get white-hot in an instant. How long he can keep that up without falling off remains to be seen but the value here is obvious with the way he plays.

Joel Dahmen, $6,400 – Dahmen is a bit up-and-down but he’s also proven to be a quality player against great fields. He was in the top 10 at the PGA, and top 20 at the St. Jude and BMW. He’s the lowest-priced player I’d have in my DraftKings lineup but he could pay off hugely.
