4. Eagles wide receivers battle the Rams secondary

The Eagles will come into this game as wounded animals. They were shocked to lose their opener to Washington. Dropping to 0-2 is not a luxury that Philadelphia can afford.

The Rams come into this game riding high off an opening win against the Cowboys. Los Angeles wasn’t perfect in the opener, but Sean McVay’s offense did enough to earn their squad a crucial victory over Dallas.

This game will be defined by Philadelphia’s ability to enjoy some measure of passing success against the Rams secondary. The Eagles will need to provide Carson Wentz better protection than they did a week ago to make that happen. Even if Wentz gets time to throw, his wide receivers may struggle to generate any separation down the field.

Jalen Ramsey will fancy his chances to shut down either Desean Jackson or Jalen Reagor anytime he encounters them in single coverage. The key for the Eagles will be to find success working against Troy Hill on the other side.

Finding some measure of success against corners other than Ramsey will be a requirement for Philadelphia if they want to even their record at 1-1. In other words, relying on tight ends Dallas Goedert and Zach Ertz to power the passing attack will not be sufficient.
