If you thought Week 1 vs. the Cleveland Browns was going to be the game that Lamar Jackson reentered the earth’s celestial sphere, you probably feel like a nincompoop.

The new-look Browns traveled to Baltimore with head coach Kevin Stefanski at the helm and Baker Mayfield seeking vengeance for a stodgy sophomore showing 2019. Stefanski and Mayfield’s aspirations were bludgeoned early on. The Ravens led the Browns 24-6 at halftime, and the game could have ended there.

Cleveland turned the ball over three times — once on a Mayfield interception and another on a Nick Chubb fumble. The Ravens capitalized and shellacked the Browns by a score of 38-6. It would be the most lopsided contest of the 2020 Week 1 schedule.

Jackson ran the football modestly by his standards but carved up the Browns secondary to the tune of three touchdowns. For deal-sealers, rookie halfback J.K. Dobbins added two insurance touchdowns as the Ravens picked up the 2020 schedule in the same dominating fashion as the team finished the 2019 regular season.

The Ravens travel to Houston in Week 2 for a Lamar Jackson vs. Deshaun Waston duel.
