College football DFS quarterback picks September 19:

Top Tier:

The two marquee quarterbacks come from the marquee game. How fitting. I trust Micale Cunningham a little bit more, but D’Eriq King is more electric. Cunningham has a better arm and more weapons around him. King makes the impossible look possible.

As for the matchup, I think Louisville’s defense is a little better than Miami overall, but the Hurricanes pride themselves in takeaways. If using one, I give the slight edge to Cunningham, but this should be a competitive game. I have no issue with using both.

There wont be many games when Jack Abraham is held out of the end zone. That was the case in week 1. Don’t count on it here. USM needs Abraham to come up big to have a chance in this game. He’s a strong play for the price here.

Middle Tier:

Brady McBride was back at practice for Texas State on Tuesday after a positive COVID test kept him out Saturday. We should assume that he’ll be the starter again this weekend. Not that Tyler Vitt was bad, but Vitt was very inconsistent last year, especially on the road. If McBride is available, he should start. If he’s out there, I’d use him. Call me skeptical, but I want to see more from Vitt before deploying him in a tough road matchup.

Devin Leary won the starting job for the Wolfpack, but if I’m using a QB from this game it will be Sam Hartman. He wont have another day as bad as the Clemson game. Besides, that $500 could come in handy elsewhere.

Bargain Shoppers:

Both Louisiana teams have co-starters at QB, which really hurts the fantasy potential of all four passers. I will say that Colby Suits looked solid and didn’t make much for mistakes against a good Army team. Suits did lose a fumble, but he also led the Warhawks to their only touchdown of the game. He’s a decent gamble in what could be a high-scoring affair with Texas State.

Iowa transfer Peyton Mansell has earned at least a split of snaps at quarterback with last year’s starter Sema’J Davis. They are both worth a dart against UTEP, but Abilene Christian will likely go with the hot hand.
