10 WR sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 2
By Dustin Baker
5. Marquez Valdes-Scantling (GB)
Game: Detroit Lions at Green Bay Packers (Sunday, 9/20,1:00 pm EST)
In Week 1, Marquez Valdes-Scantling registered 19.6 PPR fantasy points. Excellent, right? Well, it could have been about 30 or 35, but he dropped a few in-the-breadbasket passes from Aaron Rodgers against the suddenly hapless Minnesota Vikings defense.
It gets even easier this week as the Packers return home to face the demoralized Detroit Lions.
6. Scotty Miller (TB)
Game: Carolina Panthers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Sunday, 9/20,1:00 pm EST)
“Scotty Miller” sounds like the name of a man that was a jobber in the defunct WCW wrestling world. Your lack of familiarity with his name might also align with this analogy, but Miller hopes to be Tom Brady’s WR2 against the Panthers, if only for a week.
Tampa Bay will be without Chris Godwin on Sunday, and Mike Evans will be returning from injury. Miller has a clean bill of health, and Brady will find a way to get him some targets.
7. Corey Davis (TEN)
Game: Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans (Sunday, 9/20,1:00 pm EST)
Unless the Jaguars really are good, this game should be all Titans. The only reason the Titans game vs. Denver on Monday night was a squeaker is that Stephen Gostkowski looked like a nimrod missing field goals that he has built a career nailing.
On top of that, Titans WR1, A.J. Brown, will now miss the Jacksonville matchup with a knee malady. The next man up is Corey Davis — a guy that had 17.1 PPR points last weekend when Brown was healthy.
Start Davis in your FLEX, please.
