10 WR sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 2
By Dustin Baker
8. N’Keal Harry (NE)
Game: New England Patriots at Seattle Seahawks (Sunday, 9/20, 8:20 pm EST)
One of these games, the Newton-to-Harry connection will begin thriving and hopefully, your fantasy team is the benefactor. The Patriots will tussle with a Seahawks team that allowed Matt Ryan to dime 450 yards last Sunday. Not too long ago, Cam Newton and Matt Ryan were considered equals (or damn close). Therefore, Newton should be able to air it out on Sunday Night Football. Let’s go with Harry to pull some of those Newton grenades out of the sky.
9. Tre’Quan Smith (NO)
Game: New Orleans Saints at Las Vegas Raiders (Monday, 9/21, 8:15 pm EST)
Ahhh, yes. The old days. In the years pre-Michael Thomas, Drew Brees had to throw the ball to a corps of pass-catchers that were a decent-to-good set of players. With Thomas out indefinitely (we think), Emmanuel Sanders and Tre’Quan Smith feels like a duo Brees would have experienced in 2015.
And guess what? Brees was prolific then, too. The ball will have to go somewhere, and it’s reasonable to assume Sanders and Smith will reap the benefit. Sanders is too good of a matchup this week to be called a sleeper, but Smith can carry the title.
10. CeeDee Lamb (DAL)
Game: Atlanta Falcons at Dallas Cowboys (Sunday, 9/20,1:00 pm EST)
Write this down: The Falcons-Cowboys showdown will be a track meet. Both Dak Prescott and Matt Ryan will explore the air space at AT&T Stadium, and for the Cowboys, the team has three marvelous wideouts to actualize this plan.
Heck, CeeDee Lamb put up 10.9 fantasy points in his very first NFL game last week in a loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Get him now while you can still call him a “sleeper” as that title is likely mere weeks from being stripped away. That’s how good Lamb can be in this fat-and-sassy offense.
