The defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs opened up the 2020 NFL season in grand form with their 34-20 win over the Houston Texans. One of the team’s bright spots was fourth-round selection L’Jarius Sneed, who picked off a quarterback Deshaun Watson in his NFL debut, while allowing just two receptions for 19 yards on seven targets, per Pro Football Reference.

Sneed had himself a repeat performance in Week 2, as he recorded his second-career interception at the expense of Chargers rookie quarterback Justin Herbert.  Additionally, the Louisiana Tech rookie recorded six total tackles on the day.

The Chiefs were expected to have some struggles in the secondary, especially with top corner Bashaud Breeland suspended for the first four games of the season for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. Sneed didn’t let the spotlight rattle him when his name was called upon, and he’s proven to be one of the steals of this year’s NFL Draft.
