2021 NFL Mock Draft: Jets draft Trevor Lawrence and replace Sam Darnold
By Brad Weiss
For now, it appears that the plan for the Washington Football Team will be to roll with Dwayne Haskins at quarterback, and he is having a nice season. Washington could afford to get him more weapons if he is going to be their franchise guy, adding someone to play opposite Terry McLaurin at wide receiver.
Rondale Moore is a prospect that is going to have a major impact at the next level, as he not only has outstanding speed, but possesses some of the best hands in this draft class. Washington has a lot of question marks on this roster, but Haskins is proving his worth at the NFL level, and Moore could help make this offense more explosive.
The Denver Broncos came into the 2020 season as a favorite to surprise people in the AFC, but their chances of making the playoffs took a big hit in Week 2. Quarterback Drew Lock will be gone for at least a few weeks, meaning it is Jeff Driskel time in Denver, something nobody planned on.
After adding multiple offensive weapons in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Broncos should switch their focus to the defensive side of the ball with pick No. 8. Caleb Farley is a guy who will be an instant starter at cornerback at the NFL level, teaming with A.J. Bouye to give the Broncos two solid starters.
The Detroit Lions have a more than capable quarterback in Matthew Stafford, and he has shown this year that there is still a lot left in the tank. However, it is hard for me to see Justin Fields falling out of the top-10, even though, with this draft order, that could certainly be a possibility if teams do not trade up.
In Fields, the Lions would be getting the No. 2 ranked quarterback in this draft class, and one that showed incredible leadership and skills during his time at Ohio State. Detroit has other needs, and could even be picking higher than No. 9, especially after starting the season out with back-to-back losses.
