2. Lamar Jackson, QB (Baltimore Ravens)

Last Week’s Ranking: 3rd  (+1)

2020 Stats: 479 Passing Yards, 4 Passing TDs, 0 INTs, 77.6% Comp, 134.6 Passer Rating, 99 Rushing Yards, O TDs

The reigning league MVP is “only” second on the ladder for now because his competition in the top slot has effectively been perfect. Jackson could quite easily annex the No. 1 spot in any given week, so be ready for it.

During Week 2, Jackson and the Ravens thrashed a Texans team that is now searching for answers. The Texans traded away their top skill-position playmaker in DeAndre Hopkins this offseason, and so far, the current offense is anemic as a result. The Ravens capitalized on this offense that seeks to gain its footing and vanquished the Texans 33-16 in Houston.

Jackson played quite well at NRG Stadium while accounting for 258 all-purpose yards and a touchdown. He climbs a spot on the list because of the road victory against [what is usually] a formidable opponent. An easy way to categorize Jackson’s day is that of a modest but efficient one.

His game next week promises to be a bout for all the early-season marbles. That’s right, Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes square off in Jackson-Mahomes III — a showdown worthy of pay-per-view.
