Trevor Bauer was PUMPED after getting out of jam with 3 straight strikeouts (Video)
Trevor Bauer was pumped up after getting out of a jam by striking out three consecutive batters.
Trevor Bauer of the Cincinnati Reds sure knows how to celebrate a strikeout.
On Wednesday, Bauer was in a jam with runners on first and third when he took down three Milwaukee Brewers batters in a row to get out of the top of the sixth inning.
You’d think Trevor Bauer had just achieved a game-winning strike out in the World Series with the way he shouted after each punch out.
The score was 6-1 when the jam began and it was 6-1 when Bauer headed back for the dugout. It was also 6-1 when all was said and done.
Trevor Bauer couldn’t contain his emotion after three-straight strike outs.
Having never struck out a single batter on any stage, there’s no judgement here. A 6-1 game could have easily gone off the rails if the pitcher hadn’t maintained control. Bauer had every right to be pumped by his performance.
After all, he struck out 12 in eight innings on the mound and notched his fifth win of the season.
This season has been a success in general for Bauer. In 10 starts, he has pitched a career-high two shutouts while producing an ERA of 1.80.
Every game counts for the Reds right now. They hold a wildcard spot in the National League, but the Brewers, Giants and Phillies are not far behind in the postseason race.
Wednesday night’s win gave the Reds a 2-1 advantage in the series over Milwaukee with a road trip to Minnesota upcoming. Those three games will either propel Cincinnati into the playoffs or leave them in disarray.
Next up, the Brewers can look forward to a five-game series with the Cardinals across the next four days.
