1. The Arizona Cardinals can’t get caught napping against the Detroit Lions

There is almost always a surprise 2-0 team in the NFL and this year’s big winner is the Arizona Cardinals. Kliff Kingsbury’s team built off a big Week 1 upset over San Francisco by crushing the Washington Football team to build a nice cushion for the start of the season.

Getting early wins was going to be critical for Arizona in the NFC West, which is the NFL’s most loaded division. The Cardinals are in a three-way tie for first place with the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams while the 49ers are a game back after throttling the New York Jets despite a ton of injuries on Sunday.

There is plenty to like in Arizona, including the continued emergence of Kyler Murray as a potential star. Murray has already completed 66.7 percent of his passes for 516 yards and two touchdowns while contributing another 158 yards on the ground with three more scores.

The Cardinals have been established as 6.5 point favorites in Week 3 as they host the 0-2 Detroit Lions, who collapsed in Week 1 and were crushed by Green Bay at Lambeau Field in Week 2. The good news for Detroit is that top receiver Kenny Golladay, who sat out the first two games with a hamstring injury, should be good to go on Sunday.

This is a tricky game for the Cardinals, who haven’t had a ton of success in recent years and could buy into all the hype that is coming their way from the media right now. Games against a Christian McCaffrey-less Carolina and the Jets could lead to thoughts of a 5-0 start, but overlooking the Lions could lead to an upset in a game Detroit really needs to win.
