ESPN college pick em picks 6-10

(6) Virginia Tech over North Carolina State:

The Wolfpack offense is fun to watch. The defense is painful to watch. VT is the better team, but if they come out flat, they could be in trouble. I just think the offensive talent for the Hokies will carry them. NC State had all sorts of issues with a gutted Wake offense.

(7) LSU over Mississippi State:

Call me skeptical, but when you only return three of 22 starters, you’re going to have some growing pains. Add in the insanity that is Mike Leach on the other side of this, and you have the recipe for an upset if you have the guts to pick it. Honestly, I would if Leach had been in StarkVegas all offseason or had been there for a year or two. It’s going to take the Bulldogs a while to pick up that offense, but they are going to give LSU a bit of a fight in this one. LSU’s overall talent is too much though.

(8) Florida over Mississippi:

Having the Gators in the top five may be a bit optimistic, but things are lining up for Florida. They have a favorable schedule and a lot of returning players. They didn’t ride Lemical Perine all that much last year. The Gators have a ton of weapons and they finally have a quarterback that can utilize them. This is going to be a tough one for Ole Miss.

(9) Miami over Florida State:

Yeah, I want to say that the big rivalry will make this a close game, but I just don’t see it. D’Eriq King is the best QB Miami has had since maybe Ken Dorsey. Cam’Ron Harris is another in a long line of really good backs. Even if Florida State shows up, they aren’t winning this game. If they don’t show up, it’s going to be a romp.

(10) Oklahoma over Kansas State:

This is revenge. Plain and simple. Oklahoma is better than the Wildcats at every position but running back. I do expect a breakout game from Kansas State’s Deuce Vaughn, but it wont be enough.
