3. Devin Singletary (BUF)

Game: Los Angeles Rams at Buffalo Bills (Sunday, 9/27, 1:00pm EST)

Yes, Singletary splits carries with teammate Zack Moss, and yes, that is annoying. It’s just the way it goes in 2020 as some teams prefer a dual-player system for rushing the football.

Last week in the Bills squeaker win over the Dolphins, Singletary touched the pigskin 12 times. He did fairly decent while doing so and banked 76 yards from scrimmage. He has not scored a touchdown in 2020, and we’re working under the assumption that he’s due.

Los Angeles has allowed three rushing touchdowns, which is not awful. But, it is toward the bottom of the league for rushing scores allowed. We’ll take Singletary until Moss forces us to choose otherwise.

4. La’Mical Perine (NYJ)

Game: New York Jets at Indianapolis Colts (Sunday, 9/27, 4:05pm EST)

In what promises to be one of the lesser exciting games of the weekend, Perine and the Jets visit Indianapolis. The Jets are down a handful of competent receivers. Thus, Adam Gase and Co. will need to be creative to generate offense.

This one is a longshot because the venerable Frank Gore is still getting a lot of attention with playcalling. Perine was a fourth-round pick in this year’s draft, and the Jets would be foolish to hold him back.

For a one-week trial, let’s audition Perine as a sleeper.
