NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 3 Sunday Slates Tight Ends
Dallas Goedert, PHI vs. CIN ($4,900-DK/$5,200-FD)
Goedert carries very appealing salaries for a player that could be set for a boost in opportunity against a vulnerable opponent. As mentioned in Sanders’ entry earlier, the Eagles are now without Jalen Reagor in addition to Alshon Jeffery, making the other targets Carson Wentz already has chemistry with even more viable. Goedert already wowed in Week 1 with a 8-101-1 line that netted 20.6 FD points. His lackluster 4-30 day in Week 2 against the Rams may have soured some on him, but there’s no debating Goedert has plenty of downfield chops to exploit a Bengals defense that’s yielded a robust 13.2 yards per reception and one receiving touchdown already to the position. Meanwhile, Goedert is averaging a career-high 10.9 YPC through two weeks, and he’s seen a generous 17 targets in his first pair of contests as well.
Hunter Henry, LAC vs. CAR ($4,800-DK/$6,000-FD)
One of the tight ends that helped contribute to the Bengals’ generous numbers against the position by producing a 5-73 line in Week 1 against them is our second cost-savings option at the position. Henry has seen eight targets apiece in each of his first two games, and that’s naturally come with Tyrod Taylor at the helm in Week1 and rookie Justin Herbert in Week 2. The latter will draw the Week 3 start versus the Panthers, and as Henry showed with a 6-83 tally last Sunday against the Chiefs, the chemistry between him and the rookie signal-caller looks to be in good shape already. Carolina has been stingy against the position early (eight receptions for 58 yards surrendered to TEs the first two games), but Henry is a legitimate downfield threat that often creates mismatches, and he’s already notched three receptions of over 20 yards this season on his way to a career-high 14.2 YPC through two games.
