Mitchell Trubisky somehow flies downfield for a 45-yard run (Video)
Not known for his wheels, Mitchell Trubisky showcased some blazing speed against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Mitchell Trubisky really is on a mission this year to prove all of his haters wrong. As soon as he was named as the Chicago Bears‘ starting quarterback for the season over Nick Foles, people were blasting head coach Matt Nagy left and right for giving the former first-round pick another shot at leading the offense.
Well, Trubisky has the Bears at 2-0 to start the season and is hoping to lead the team to a big win against Atlanta in Week 3. In the middle of the action, Trubisky somehow, someway, broke free for a 45-yard run that’s certainly going to be talked about for a while.
Mitchell Trubisky taking off for a 45-yard run is not something you expected to see on Sunday
Is that Mike Vick or Trubisky? In all seriousness, the Bears signal-caller broke free for his impressive run and it looked like he was going to fight his way to the end zone for six. Seeing him take off like that is obviously not what Chicago fans thought would happen against Atlanta, but it surely was an impressive play for sure.
Nagy of course isn’t going to open the playbook to try and let Trubisky run more often, but the fact that he has these kinds of plays in him is great to see. While he has really struggled early on in his career, Trubisky is playing like a new man thus far in 2020.
If he can keep making plays with both his strong right arm and now his feet, the Bears really could be in for a special campaign.
