The Panthers brought at 10-game losing streak into their clash with the Chargers in Los Angeles and would be without star offensive weapon Christian McCaffrey. But that didn’t stop Matt Rhule from getting his first win as an NFL head coach as running back Mike Davis totaled 21 touches, gained 91 yards from scrimmage and scored Carolina’s only TD on a 13-yard catch. Joey Slye added five field goals and the Panthers forced four turnovers.

Brian Flores’ team got its first victory of the season and did it by playing ball control and avoiding turnovers. The Dolphins gained just 294 total yards but 138 of that came on the ground via 36 plays. Ageless Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a pair of touchdown passes and also ran for a score and the veteran performer is now in some exclusive company (via ESPN’s Kevin Seifert). Miami’s defensive unit limited Jacksonville to just 72 yards on the ground.

Last week, the Cowboys needed some late game heroics to pull out a win over the visiting Falcons. Now Mike McCarthy’s team and made their way to the Pacific Northwest. And the opportunity was again there for a comeback victory. Dak Prescott threw for 472 yards and three scores but also turned over the ball three times. Defensive end Aldon Smith had three sacks in a losing effort. Dallas has allowed 77 points in their last two games.
