4. The teams do play defense, in case you forgot

There’s a temptation to be easily hoodwinked by offense when one glances at Chiefs-Ravens on the docket. Both teams are led by absurdly good quarterbacks and fantasy owners consequently drivel at the matchup.

Let FanSided reassure you both the Chiefs and Ravens own and operate daunting defenses. In 2019, the Ravens were the NFL’s second-best team via points allowed. The Chiefs ranked seventh in this metric. Flash forward to this season and Baltimore is the best team in the league in terms of points allowed whereas the Chiefs rank ninth (heading into Week 3).

Have a look at these individual names: Chris Jones, Frank Clark, Tyrann Mathieu, Calais Campbell, Marlon Humphrey, Matt Judon, and Marcus Peters. If you know just a little bit of football, you know that these men are formidable defenders.

It is more than acceptable to be enamored with the offensive firepower spread throughout the rosters of the Chiefs and Ravens, but both teams will need opportune defensive playmaking to win this contest and the 13+ games proceeding it.

As a footnote, the Chiefs are 7-4 (.636) on Monday night during the last decade. The Ravens are 8-3 (.727).
