Josh Allen – Buffalo Bills

The Josh Allen MVP bandwagon may have hit a bump in the road following his performance in the Bills’ controversial 35-32 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Always unpredictable, Allen was anything but composed in a rollercoaster finish at Orchard Park, which saw him hit Tyler Kroft for the game-winner after the Rams had erased a 25-point deficit.

Allen needed a hugely contentious pass interference penalty to set up that pass to Kroft, but all that will matter to fantasy managers not of a Rams persuasion is the Bills quarterback’s final stat line – 311 yards, four touchdowns and just one interception.

Those numbers were good enough for 31.2 fantasy points. Only two quarterbacks had more in Week 3 and Allen has 93.9 points through three weeks of the season.

What was even more impressive about Sunday’s haul was that it came without Allen using his legs. Indeed, Allen had only eight yards rushing on four carries and, while he appears to be successfully making the transition from athlete playing quarterback to athletic quarterback, the prospect of him producing as a runner while putting up such gaudy numbers throwing the ball is a mouthwatering one for fantasy owners.

Allen is a player who will continue to divide opinion. There can be no debate, though, that fantasy teams with Allen on the roster should be in extremely good shape to make a run at a title.
