2. Brandon Aiyuk scores once or twice vs. the Eagles

With Aiyuk, an opportune marriage of fantasy football serendipity and pandemonium on the 49ers injury report occurred. Aiyuk was slated to wiggle into San Francisco’s offense sooner than later, but with the litany of injuries that have beset the 49ers, the Arizona State alumnus’ time is now.

That’s right, the 49ers are without Raheem Mostert, Tevin Coleman, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, Jalen Hurd, Jimmy Garoppolo, and now Jordan Reed. And, that’s just the offense. There’s more on defense.

Therefore, the Niners trotted out reservist quarterback Nick Mullens who led San Francisco to victory over the turmoil-laden New York Giants. In doing so, Aiyuk broke off 101 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. His Week 3 performance ensured his draft hype was legitimate, if only for one week.

Out of sheer necessity, Aiyuk is going to be afforded more touches. There is no better opportunity for fantasy owners to have a look at the young man.
