Running Back: Austin Ekeler $6,900

Austin Ekeler feels like the most obvious play of this week. He’s been very good the past two weeks, and broke 20 points for the first time this season last week. He’s getting better and better every week.

The Los Angeles Chargers are playing the offense through him with Justin Herbert under center. Last week, he hauled in 11 receptions as Herbert tries and gets his bearings.

This week, he has an intriguing matchup. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a very good front seven, but they focus more on a pass rush than anything. Head coach Anthony Lynn will likely look to get the Bucs defense offbalanced with a strong running game.

Alvin Kamara and Christian McCaffrey struggled to gain traction on the ground against the Bucs, but they both had touchdowns (CMC had two). Expect a similar performance from Ekeler.

He will get most of his production through the air for a second straight week. Sometimes it is hard to play a great player against a very good defense, but the Bucs are stopping the great players from producing in the middle of the field but can’t seem to stop them in the red zone.

Ekeler will look to drive the Chargers to a win to even their record. Even if the Bucs take the lead, the Chargers will continue to get Ekeler the ball.
