No. 7 Auburn at No. 4 Georgia (-7)

At one point, the college football season seemed impossible. Now, the SEC is putting out its first Top-10 matchup. Georgia and Auburn are both very good teams who struggled to impress in their first games, but a win this week puts them directly in College Football Playoff contention.

The major storyline will follow the quarterback. Georgia didn’t name their starter until gameday last week, but JT Daniels ended up not being ready to play. With D’Wan Mathis looking bad, and Stetson Bennett was forced to come in and save the day against Arkansas. Against a really good Auburn defense, that likely won’t fly. Daniels is extremely important to the Bulldogs keeping their season on the rails.

On the other side, there’s no question who is starting under center. Bo Nix is coming into his sophomore season looking to make a statement. This is where his statement can begin. He’s incredibly accurate and smart with the football. He learned a lot during his true freshman season playing against some of the best teams in the country. This season, he gets some major matchups early. This could be really good for Auburn.

The SEC has so many teams at the top, it’s nice that these two get to knock one off early. After LSU got knocked off last week, at least two more in these two marquee matchups will get knocked out of early contention.

The questions at quarterback for Georgia and a touchdown spread is too much to deal with. Auburn is incredibly consistent across its positions. There is high-end talent everywhere. The same goes for Georgia, but with questions surrounding the most important position, it makes them unbettable. Not only should bettors skip out on the Bulldogs, but they should bet the moneyline on the Tigers.

Pick: Auburn (+7)
