4. Odell Beckham Jr., Cleveland Browns

Trade speculation is never far away from Beckham, as his rapport with Baker Mayfield has not yet come in Cleveland and the Browns’ formula to win is clearly centered on the running game.

Beckham has a solid 22 targets through three games, with 11 catches for 155 yards and one touchdown. Before Week 3 against Washington, he said the right things about trading production for winning.

“For me, one of my biggest growths has come in acceptance in a sense and for me knowing it’s probably not going to be that kind of season [with huge numbers],” Beckham said on a video call Thursday. Like I said, learning and acceptance, so you set new goals.”

“You have two legitimate No. 1 backs in the backfield, and our team is very, very, very good at running the football, so you have to play to your strengths. Then I think you learn where you fit in and where you’re able to make your plays and how you can help the team.”

In his own way, up to and including telling opposing players he wants to play on their team, it’s only a matter of time before Beckham professes some frustration with his situation and lack or production.

The primary issue for the Packers to get Beckham is cap space. They have a little less than $7.5 million available right now, while Beckham has a $14.25 million cap hit for this year. Without some contract restructuring gymnastics, or the Browns eating some money to bolster a draft pick return, it really can’t be done. But if there’s a will, there’s a way. The Packers may have the will, and the Browns may be willing to find any way to unload Beckham if he becomes a distraction again.
