College football DFS wide receiver picks October 3:

Top Tier:

Jaylen Waddle had a monster game against Missouri before it got out of hand. It appears as though Mac likes Waddle, so he’s plenty worth paying up for. I do expect a lot of airborne pigskin in the SMU/Memphis game, but there are way too many receivers to go around.

The leading receiver was a tight end, not a WR. Kyle Pitts abused Ole Miss and is a favorite to do so against South Carolina. What is it about tight ends in the state of Florida right now?

Joshua Moore is the favorite target of Sam Ehlinger. That itself makes him worth paying for. DeVonta Smith is the gamebreaker but give me Moore at the end of the upper tier. Josh Palmer is a strong choice as well given what Waddle did to Missouri.

Middle Tier:

Florida was gashed by a number on receiver last week. Shi Smith is that for the Gamecocks and he’s cheaper than he should be. South Carolina’s passing game is better than it has been and the prices aren’t quite fully adjusted yet.

Texas Tech throws enough to make both T.J. Vasher and Erik Ezukanma. Vasher is the more talented receiver, but Ezukanma has benefitted from defenses rolling Vasher’s way.

The volume for Jordan Addison is only increasing. He’s still cheap enough to sneak into your lineups in a Pitt offense that is evolving more towards showcasing their senior quarterback. Addison is still a sneaky play even though he is averaging seven receptions per game. That’s not just an average. He has seven catches in each of his first three college games.

Tyler Wilson being back under center is a great thing for Josh Ali. Ali was a huge part of the Kentucky passing game in a good effort against Auburn. It will be much easier sledding against Ole Miss. I see Ali having a big game here.

Bargain Shoppers:

Whoever is doing the pricing over at DraftKings dropped the ball on the guy who does nothing of the sort. KeSean Carter is the third option for Texas Tech, but he still has 13 receptions in two games. He is an absolute steal in the value tier.

Zay Flowers is the big-play guy for a newfangled Boston College team that likes to pass, but Hunter Long is the possession guy that you want against North Carolina. It’s going to be a tough game for BC, which makes a guy like Long a safe play on the cheap.

Taysir Mack is too cheap against North Carolina State. There’s plenty of balls to go around. Addison is the possession guy like Maurice Ffrench was last year. That leaves Mack to make a meal out of the big plays. I usually have questions about Pickett. He has been better this year. Enough better that Mack at this price is an abomination.

Kwamie Lassiter is the only bright spot on this Kansas offense. He has 11 receptions through the first two games. Getting that kind of production basically for free can really vault your DFS lineup to the top if you spend the extra money wisely.

This week is going to be tougher for Ole Miss, but Temple transfer Kenny Yeboah is way too cheap on DraftKings. He was targeted a lot in the opener against Florida. He already has the trust of Corral, and if Corral stays under center, the Ole Miss passing attack is going to be DFS gold.
