NFL DFS Bargain Bin: Week 4 Sunday Slates Running Backs

James Robinson, JAC at CIN ($6,500-DK/$6,600-FD)

Robinson will undoubtedly be popular in tournaments, but it’s entirely justified and not a reason to avoid him. The undrafted rookie’s most recent encouraging performance came when he essentially served as the lone bright spot in a 31-13 Week 3 loss to the Dolphins. Robinson posted 27.9 FD points on the strength of 129 total yards and two rushing TDs. That came in the wake of 19.5 FD points in Week 2 against the Titans, and Robinson should once again have the backfield nearly to himself against the Bengals vulnerable run defense.

Cincinnati checks in with the second-most rushing yards allowed to running backs (466) at a clip of 5.2 yards per carry. The matchup between the Jags’ O-line and Cincy’s D-line is very favorable for Jacksonville as well, considering the former is ranked in the top 10 in adjusted line yards (4.7) and RB yards (4.7) generated per carry, and they also check in ranked tops in power-run success (100.0 percent success rate). In turn, the Bengals’ D-line arrives with bottom-10 figures in adjusted line yards (4.9) and RB yards (5.2) allowed per carry, furthering the appeal of the matchup.

Mike Davis, CAR vs. ARI ($5,700-DK/$6,300-FD)

Davis already has tallies of 11.5 and 19.1 FD points in his game-plus of helping cover for the sidelined Christian McCaffrey (ankle). An excellent receiver in his own right, Davis has brought in 16 of 17 targets for 119 yards and a touchdown during that span while also logging 14 carries, three of them in the red zone (two inside the 10).

The Cardinals are surrendering 4.4 yards per rush to running backs in the first three games of the campaign, and just as notable when considering Davis, they’ve yielded an elevated 15.5 yards per catch on 13 receptions (two TDs) to RBs. The Cardinals have been just about middle of the pack with 4.3 adjusted line yards per carry surrendered as well, and given the extra plays Arizona’s pace often affords opponents, Davis is very worthy of consideration at his prices.
