College football DFS running back picks October 3:

Top Tier:

It’s hard to pick which elite back you want too. The Bulldogs got Kylin Hill very involved in the game as a receiver and out of the backfield. He is an elite play no matter how you look at it against Arkansas.

Breece Hall has the potential for a huge game against Oklahoma. Even in a pedestrian game against Louisiana, he racked up more than 20 fantasy points. 30 might be his floor here.

Middle Tier:

I can’t say that there is any one back in the middle tier that I like. Travis Etienne should get a good workload against Virginia, but that’s a pretty tough front. Greg McRae has a nice matchup, but Tulsa had more issues with the speed back against Oklahoma State. That could mean Bentavious Thompson is the better play. He definitely is if Otis Anderson is out.

The Oklahoma backfield is a committee approach while they wait for Rhamondre Stevenson to be reinstated. Honestly, only Seth McGowan is worth a look. He’s done more with his touches than Pledger has. When it comes down to it, I think I’d rather take a shot with Wayne Taulapapa and his guaranteed workload.

Bargain Shoppers:

Deneric Price looks to be the lead back in Tulsa with Shamari Brooks done for the year. His price is really cheap and Price should see a solid workload against UCF. This isn’t a great matchup, but it’s all about volume for a low price here.

Billy Kemp was targeted a whopping 12 times against Duke last week. He hauled in seven of those. He doesn’t have a high ceiling but give me a guaranteed half dozen points just on receptions alone for $4,000. That’s a hell of a bargain!
