QB. Miami Dolphins. Ryan Fitzpatrick. 2. player. Pick Analysis. 59. Scouting Report

It may not happen this week, but eventually Tua Tagovailoa will be the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins. Ryan Fitzpatrick has been a solid stop-gap quarterback for this consistently underperforming AFC East team. However, the ‘Phins are at 1-3 and will move to 1-4 if they fall next week on the road to the San Francisco 49ers. The clock is ticking and it’s almost Tua Time.

Fitzpatrick had a tough matchup with the Seattle Seahawks coming to town. However, the NFL’s lone Pacific Northwest team had to play in the southeastern humidity and came away with their fourth straight victory to start the season. Seattle had statistically the worst defense in football and the Seahawks held Fitzpatrick and the Miami offense to only 12 points at home on Sunday.

In his fourth start, Fitzpatrick completed 29-of-45 passes for 315 yards and two interceptions. He did have six rushing attempts for 47 yards and a touchdown. Though he may be a team leader, Fitzpatrick is just not providing the offensive spark consistently enough to help the Dolphins win football games. It’s why he’s seen as one of the worst starting quarterbacks in the league.

Tagovailoa may not be ready, but he will get his shot soon enough. His fellow draft classmates in Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals and Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers have looked excellent in the first quarter of the season. Don’t be shocked if Dolphins head coach Brian Flores hands the reins to this Miami offense before the end of October. It will be Tua Time soon enough.
