5 replacements the Texans should hire for Bill O’Brien
By Scott Rogust
Eric Bieniemy is the obvious choice to be the Texans’ new head coach. The Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator has been through two head coaching carousels, but shockingly walked away with zero jobs. There has been the belief that Andy Reid was responsible for the team’s offensive success with Patrick Mahomes. But that all changed earlier this year, as Bieniemy was shown on camera calling plays during Kansas City’s Divisional Round win over the Texans.
This season, the Chiefs offense is better than ever. On average, the team averaged 433.2 yards per game (third in NFL) and 30.3 points per game (eighth in league).
Bieniemy and Watson would be the perfect mach for each other, and ensure that Houston’s offense can improve for years to come. It’s the obvious hire, so you should brace yourselves if it becomes official. Unless, there’s a surprise, out-of-the-blue coaching candidate.
