If you do not think you have a viable Aaron Jones replacement for the week, here is one of your best options.

If it feels like Frank Gore has been taking snaps out of NFL backfields forever, it is because he has. The legend is playing in his 16th NFL season.

Gore is now a member of the New York Jets and his role has increased more than what was expected of him when the team signed him this offseason. With Le’Veon Bell out on the injured reserve list, Adam Gase has leaned on the veteran as the team’s lead back.

In three games since getting the number-one job, Gore has been used a considerable amount. In Week 2, he got 21 carries for 63 yards. Week 3, 15 carries for 57 yards, and 30 yards on 13 carries in Week 4.

Gore is a valuable add this week based purely on quantity. Even with La’Mical Perine and Kalen Ballage seeing action in the backfield, and Bell potentially returning, Gore will get most of the carries.

No, Gore is not a dynamic back who will bulk his fantasy days with receptions. But, against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5, he will probably get the same volume of carries, which could bolster fantasy scores if the Jets get him chances to score.

The Cardinals are a solid defensive team against the run. However, they still allow solid fantasy days to running backs due to struggles defending running backs as pass-catchers.

Yes, just before it was said how Gore does not do much damage as a pass-catcher. But, look at it this way: with other options receiving the ball, that means the Jets can find themselves in scoring situations. In close goal-line packages, Gore will undoubtedly be called upon. Also, he did get at least one redzone pass target in Week 4.
